Transport & Accompaniment

Safe, reliable transport for medical appointments, social outings and community access, with a familiar face alongside you every step of the way.

Community Access Appointments

Losing the ability to drive can feel like losing independence. Wisteria's transport and accompaniment service doesn't just get your loved one from A to B, we provide a calm, familiar companion who knows them, ensures their comfort and assists at both ends of every trip.

What is Transport & Accompaniment?

Transport and accompaniment provides a trained carer who drives clients to appointments and outings, and accompanies them throughout. Unlike a taxi, our carers wait, help with check-in, assist inside facilities and ensure a safe return home. Rates are distance-based: under 10km, 10–20km, or over 20km per trip.

What's included

Transport to GP and specialist appointments
Accompaniment into medical facilities
Hospital outpatient appointment transport
Pharmacy and pathology visits
Allied health appointment transport
Social outings and community events
Mobility assistance at pickup and destination
Wait and return on same trip
Airport transfers and family visits
Trip notes provided on request

Who benefits from this service?

Transport support is essential for clients who no longer drive, cannot use public transport safely, or whose family members are unavailable during working hours, particularly for frequent appointments like chemotherapy, dialysis or wound clinic reviews.

How it works

1

Appointment calendar setup

We map your loved one's regular appointments and set up a transport schedule.

2

Booking transport

Book at least 48 hours ahead for planned appointments. Urgent requests accommodated where possible.

3

Door-to-door service

Carer arrives at the door, assists to the vehicle, drives safely and assists at the destination.

4

After-appointment debrief

Key appointment information shared with family or care team if requested.

🩺 Clinical note: For clients attending complex medical appointments, our carer can be briefed in advance on what to watch for and can share key information from consultations with the family.
